The Divine Art Center

Growing up, art was never my first love or a career I thought about pursuing. I only saw it as an elective. That is what I was taught. Graphic design became available as a career pathway my senior year of high school when I understood art could be a career.

I imagined a place called The Divine Art Center to give Black kids the opportunity to begin there to journey in art outside of the school elective or career pathway. I created it to give a person a community, a home, and a place to create. I want to promote the arts over common career options—lawyers and doctors—because if as a Black community we are going to change the world we need Black professionals in every field!
